Instructor: Andi MacKay
This class invites students to explore the art of ceramic sculpture! Participants will learn and experiment with hand-building techniques, surface treatments, and even combining sculpture and the wheel together to create three-dimensional forms rich in texture and detail. Students will delve into carving, modeling, and different sculptural methods, pushing their creative boundaries. By course end, students will have developed a unique collection of ceramic sculptures, honing their skills and artistic vision along the way.
Adult classes are for freshman in high school and older and include: one 25 lb. bag of white or red stoneware clay; 24/7 studio access via an Open Studio Hours signup sheet; all glazes and firings
You will need a basic 8-piece tool kit. You can buy one at the studio for $28 or order one before you start class. We like the Kemper kit from dickblick.com or TheCeramicShop.com.
