Artist In Residence
$190/month
Monthly artist in residence (AIR) fee includes: Shelf space, firings, glazes, and 24/7 studio access. White and red cone 6 stoneware are available for purchase at The Clay School for $35/bag. Clay purchased outside of The Clay School can be used as long as it is cone 6 and the artist pays a glaze and firing fee of $25/bag.
NEW TO TCS? To apply, please submit a biography of your history and education in clay via the form below. We also ask that you submit 3-5 image samples of you work as JPEG, PNG or PDF files labeled with your name to theclayschool@gmail.com. We will review your application to ensure that all AIR have a full knowledge of working in clay independently
Current Student at TCS? You can move to AIR for the summer and keep your shelf. When registration opens for Sept/Oct you can still get early registration into the class you took in May/June. You can chose to do AIR for just July or Aug or both. You can also move to AIR during the year as you need to just email us. Registration for AIR is through the Studio Member button.
We have space for 20 artists in residence and availability is currently limited.
Sometimes the best way to access the studio is through the classes. Students receive the same 24/7 access, firings, glazes, and one shelf. Many students use a class to do their independent project.
