Monday AM: 10:30am-1:00pm with Hannah, Total Beginner - Advanced
Mondays 10:30am-1:00pm
May 4 - June 29, class does not meet on Memorial Day
8 Classes over 9 Weeks
Total Beginner - Advanced
Instructor: Hannah Niswonger
This 8-week class will focus on hand-building techniques for constructing complex animal forms, including free-standing, four-legged creatures. We’ll try various methods of hand-building, determined by the goals of each student. Among other strategies, Hannah will demonstrate slab-building large and smaller animals using external and internal support systems. In addition to the various hand-building techniques covered, the class will investigate surface decoration. We’ll explore how pattern can be added using printed or stenciled slabs, incising and inlaying color, paper transfer printing and more.
Adult classes are for freshman in high school and older and include: one 25 lb. bag of white or red stoneware clay; 24/7 studio access via an Open Studio Hours signup sheet; all glazes and firings
You will need a basic 8-piece tool kit. You can buy one at the studio for $28 or order one before you start class. We like the Kemper kit from dickblick.com or TheCeramicShop.com.
Please Note: Putting a class in your cart DOES NOT automatically save your spot(s) in that class. Registration is not confirmed until you’ve completed the checkout process.
