Naked Raku Nov 9 from 8am-12pm
Join our teacher Conor Pickett at Pingree School in South Hamilton for a fun morning of Naked RAKU FIRING!
This a hands-on-workshop and you will bring your own bisqueware to put in the the RAKU firings!
Bring 8-10 pieces (we will try and get everything fired, but no promises over 2-4 firings) that are smaller than 10 inches. People should avoid wide bowls/plates as they take up a lot of space.
All horsehair and feathers. Pieces for Naked Raku should be burnished and smoothed at leather hard then bisqued.
Students should come dressed for heat: close toed shoes, natural fibers, and long sleeves.
Note: Raku firings are super fun but they result in work that is 100% decorative and NON-FUNCTIONAL and NOT FOOD SAFE (as in no liquids but a bunch of oranges in a raku piece would be fine)
Workshop is limited to 10 students
