@Home Handbuilding 8 Week Zoom Class
with Ruth Easterbrook
INTERMEDIATE - ADVANCED
(8 weeks $310)
March 2 - April 27 (no class April 20th for school vacation)
Tues 6:30-9:00 p.m.
Instructor- Ruth Easterbrook
Do you miss the class time and group interaction but want to continue social distancing? I am designing an online zoom class that will meet once a week, including a demo, group discussion, and group work time. This class will be a hand-building class with a series of projects that will expand and sharpen your skills from coil building to slab construction. One of the bonuses of the online zoom class is that we can record it! and I will share the recording with those enrolled, this allows you to watch the class even if you miss a day. Other advantages are sharing slideshows, websites, and other online resources that will assist your at-home practice. The Clay School drop-off to bisque and glaze your work will be included in this course. Join the fun!
RECORDINGS OF YOUR ZOOM CLASS WILL BE SENT TO YOU THE NEXT DAY, so if you still want to do this class but the timing doesn't quite fit in your schedule you can still join us.
***note that if you are a totally NEW student to clay the @home studio option is not ideal. Beginners really need the attention provided by an in-studio class and weekly teacher. This course is best for those who have already taken a ceramics course or a few in the past.
Comes with a 25lb bag of clay (red or white) Additional clay can be purchased at the drive through for $25/25lb bag. All work to be fired must be made while you are enrolled in class @TCS. We won't be firing work made after the session ends.
All firing and glazing and in studio working hours are available if you come into the studio is included.

Payment and Refund Policy
Payment is expected after you register to save your space in class, unless you have made other arrangements with Kirsten. Payment plans can be set up if need be.
If the pandemic closes our in-studio classes we will be automatically switching to teaching remotely. We will not stop working, teaching, or making. Students will need to bring their clay and tools home. In our online format you will get zoom classes and video projects sent to you by email and there will be a drive through set up to collect and fire all the work you make at home.
When you sign up for any class at TCS, you sign up understanding that the pandemic is out of our control and we will not be giving refunds or postponing our classes as we will switch to online learning. We will continue to teach the highest level of ceramics education through our Clay School @Home Studio Program.
Since almost all of our classes run full, if you register for class that means that someone else has been turned away to save your place in class. For this reason we cannot offer refunds if you decide to drop-out of class unless you drop out MORE THAN A WEEK (7 Days) BEFORE THE FIRST CLASS. If you drop out more than a week before class begins we will refund your class minus a $50 registration fee. Otherwise if you are within a week of the first class starting we will be unable to refund you. We will make every effort to accommodate you if you need to switch classes due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts or other such emergencies or events but can not guarantee a spot in another class if they are already full. It is our goal to make you happy and to teach you the joy of working with clay.
We don't prorate classes if you are going away on vacation or just going to miss a few. Please, please feel free to make-up any class you might miss by attending another class being offered during the same session. Due to COVID19 you do need to check with the teacher first to make sure they have room for you in the class you want to attend. Make-up classes may be hard to schedule or impossible depending on the class size. We do not guarantee a make-up class will be available for you that will work in your schedule but we will try. Make-up classes however do not carry over into the next 8 week session.
We want you to work, have fun, and get the most out of your time at The Clay School.
