Looking to do something new for date night? Always wanted to try pottery? Already a ceramics enthusiast looking to get your significant other hooked? Whatever your reasons, this one-night class is for the couples by a couple! Grab your boyfriend, your girlfriend, or even your best friend and join The Clay School instructor, Kim Allison, and her husband, Kyle Day, for a fun night of making with clay.
Students will need to return approximately three weeks after class to pick up their finished pieces. Pots made in class need to dry slowly and then be fired in a kiln twice before they are ready to use. Students will be able to select a glaze from a limited color palette that the instructors will apply to complete the piece after it has been through the first, “bisque” firing. (Participants enrolled in The Clay School are welcome to dry and glaze their own and their partner's work.) We will notify you when your pots are ready to be picked up!

Wheel Pottery - Date Night - Waitlist Starting

Saturday 6:30pm-9:30pm | August 13, 2022
One-Night Wheelthrowing Sampler: Bowls and Beyond!
This one-night spinning extravaganza will be very informal, a night where you can re-enact that Ghost scene you've always wanted to try. We won't judge. This class will have something for everyone. If you're brand new to clay, you'll get to try your hand at the pottery wheel, making bowls with help from the instructors. Students familiar with the wheel will get to relax and play with the clay alongside their date for the night, practicing their own bowls or trying out new forms with guidance from the instructors. Each student will be able to keep up to one piece (you don't have to keep anything if you'd rather just have fun trying it out) from the night which will be fired and glazed for you after the class.
